Penguin Surprise (Created by Jane Z.)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

Come join our monthly challenge...and you could be the next winner of two High Hopes Stamps of your choice.  The details for the October Challenge can be found here.  The challenge runs through October 31st.

This is Penguin Surprise (SS005) and Ho Ho Ho Sentiment (HH002). This image makes for such a cute Christmas card!!!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the Penguin's beak and the tree ornament. Frosted Lace Stickles were applied to the fur on his hat and pompom.

The image was cut down to size and layered using a couple of Spellbinder circle dies.  The pattern paper is from Simple Stories - Claus & Co. 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some red, green, and white cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with a versamark ink pad and white embossing powder was applied then heated.  Foam tape was used under the sentiment to add some dimension.  I wanted to keep this card fairly flat, so it could be mailed out in time for the holidays.  To complete this card, a piece of Doodlebug Twine was tied in a bow to coordinate with the gift bow.  Also, some red rhinestones were added to the centre of the snowflakes on the sentiment.
